Read Across America Week
February 27-March 3, 2017
You can participate in our effort to promote a love for reading and our appreciation of Dr. Seuss. These are our daily themes.
Monday, February 27- “Books are Awesome”- Wear a shirt with something you consider awesome.
(your favorite team, a super hero, a movie/tv/cartoon character, dinosaurs, etc.)
Tuesday, February 28-“Proud to Be a Reader”- Wear something red, white, and/or blue.
Wednesday, March 1- “Gearing Up for Seuss”- Wear any Dr. Seuss attire--Cat in the Hat hats, shirt with Dr. Seuss character, etc. March 2 is actually Dr. Seuss’ birthday, but we are going to wear our Seuss gear a day early so we are not a distraction to the fourth graders who will be doing some testing on Thursday.
Thursday, March 2- “Books for Breakfast”- Not really, just a book title. The lunch room will be serving “Green Eggs and Ham” for breakfast. Wear something green.
Friday, March 3- “Rock, Roll, and Read” at the Book Swap Hop- Dress 50’s Style. Boys wear a white tee shirt and jeans and comb that hair over after you slick it down. Girls wear a flowing skirt or jeans rolled up with your bobby socks, sweater, scarf around your neck and hair pulled up in a ponytail. *Bring a gently used book that you already own and rock on into the library to trade your book with someone else.
