What is a Reading
Coach?
A Reading Coach is someone who coordinates reading programs and
instruction throughout the school. They work with teachers to
identify struggling readers and take corrective action to bring all
students to grade level. It is the responsibility of the Reading
Coach to monitor and analyze assessment data, help plan instruction,
organize an intervention effort, and facilitate professional
development that is ongoing throughout the school year. Reading
Coaches work with students, teachers, administration, and parents to
ensure that every child receives effective reading instruction.
