The
following are highlights from the Winston County Board of
Education meeting on August 1, 2005.
The
board rescinded motion from July 21, 2005 to employ
Cynthia Prescott as 50% Guidance Counselor at Lynn
Elementary, due to her not accepting the position. Amended
motion from July 21, 2005 to transfer Bobby Shannon Daniel
to full-time Teacher at Double Springs Elementary to read
as follows: transfer Bobby Shannon Daniel to part-time
teacher at Double Springs Elementary and part-time Teacher
at Winston County High School. Approved
supplement for local school bookkeepers, due to extra
curricular funding sources (various booster clubs
budgeting needs being added to their duties). Approved
revised supplements for 2005-2006 school year. Approved
FY 2006 Annual School Budget Granted
maternity leave of absence to Brooke Brannon, teacher at
Double Springs Elementary School, for the first semester
of the 2005-2006 school year. Accepted
retirement of Lamar Frith as teacher/coach at Meek School
effective September 1, 2005. Approved
employment of the following personnel for the 2005-2006
school year:

Approved
contracting Dr. Neil Hyche as an outside data collector
for PEPE evaluations of principals and central office
personnel for the 2005-2006 school year. Approved
McAleer Solutions Software License Agreement for the
period October 1, 2005 through December 31, 2006 in the
amount of $15,051.00. Set
the next meeting for August 22, 2005 at 8:00 pm.
