The following are highlights from the Winston County Board of Education meeting on January 24, 2005:
  • Selected Larry Yancey as Board President and Greg Batchelor as Board Vice-President for a two-year term effective January 2005 through December 2006
  • Accepted payrolls and expenditures, and financial statements for December 2004
  • Accepted resignation of Joyce Ragsdale, lunchroom manager at Meek, effective February 1, 2005
  • Approved employment of Teresa Smith as Aide at Meek Elementary effective January 3, 2005
  • Approved overnight trip for Meek Band to go to Auburn Honor Band on February 11-13, 2005
  • Approved submitting budget corrections to the State Department of Education
  • Will consider revision to the following board policies:
    • IHF/JFD – Alabama High School Graduation Requirements
    • JBDF – Early Warning Truancy Prevention Program
    • JBDC - Truancy
  • Approved revision of salary schedule to add Technology Technician
  • Set next Board Meeting for February 10, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
