"Teacher
of the Year"
Mrs. Patty Courington was recently named the Double Springs Middle School
Teacher of the Year for 2006-2007 school year. Selected by the faculty at Double
Springs Middle School to represent them for this prestigious honor, Mrs.
Courington is a valued member of the DSMS staff. Her positive attitude and
superior knowledge of the subject that she teaches make her effective with
students at all levels of ability.
Mrs. Courington has the unique ability to motivate her students through her
caring attitude, creativity, and innovative teaching methods. She sets high
standards for herself and her students and works diligently to meet them.
Mr. Ben Aderholt, DSMS principal, stated that Mrs. Courington demonstrates the
highest level of professional commitment and competency in her work with
students and colleagues. He also praised Mrs. Courington for her commitment to
her students, fellow teachers, and community.
Mrs. Shanda Barnett, who just completed her second year at DSMS, stated “Mrs.
Courington is an awesome mentor for new teachers and is always available for her
students and fellow teachers with positive reinforcement to assist them with
important decisions.”
Mrs. Courington, a mathematics teacher at DSMS, is married to Scotty Courington.
She is the mother of John age 20 and Lisa age 23.
