Lynn Elementary has opened their own school snack room. It is located in the Riverdeep Lab and it opens each afternoon at 1:55. Mrs. Suzanne Bass runs the snack room, and Mrs. Lisa keeps it stocked. All items are 50 cents each, and they all meet nutritional guidelines. Students even made the suggestions for the items that are in our snack room. 1st through 3rd grade comes to the snack room at 1:55, and 4th through 6th grades come at 2:15. Everyone is encouraged to buy their afternoon snack from the school; the proceeds support our school. Thanks!

On Monday, November 3, LES K-6 students let their political voices be heard. Students participated in a mock presidential election by coming to the library and casting their ballots on computer. After casting their votes, students were presented a certificate of voting participation and an " I voted" sticker to wear.
This activity was sponsored by American Legacy Publishing and 5th/6th social studies teacher Mrs. Katrina Boteler. There were at least 4 million k-6 students across the 50 states that had pre-registered for this voting activity.
On Tuesday, November 4, the results of the mock election were announced. Students across America chose Barack Obama over John McCain as the next president of the United States.
The LES Senior Toybowl cheerleaders competed in an NCAC Cheer competition on Saturday, November 1 in Carbon Hill. The squad won the competition and Jenny and Logann were chosen for the All-Star Cheer Team. Congratulations!
