ATTENTION 2008 SENIORS

  • Seniors who have not taken the ACT and plan to apply for scholarships need to take the ACT this fall. Also, seniors who would like to try for a higher score should plan to take the test again. 

  • ACT Dates for 2007-2008 are as follows:

  • There are ACT Registration Packets in my office or Registration may be done online by using the ACT link provided on the counselor’s home page.

  • Seniors should be working on a Resume for applications. Please see me for information on completing a Resume.

  • Seniors will be attending College Day this fall at one of the local community colleges. There will be representatives from all over the state and from some out-of-state colleges and universities as well as military branches to provide information to students. 

  • FAFSA stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Seniors should apply as soon after Jan. 1, 2008 as possible. You may register online and also get help online with the registering process by using the FAFSA link provided on the counselor’s home page.

  • The deadline for most 4-year university scholarship applications is in Nov. or by Dec. 1. Please be aware of this and be making the necessary arrangements to complete these in time if you are interested in applying to this type of institution. Also, the deadline for most 2-year college scholarship applications is around the first of March. Most College Scholarship Applications may be completed online or at least printed from the internet. Students may also come by the counselor’s office to receive applications and/or to receive assistance in completing applications.
