2011-2012 Scholarships

February
KFC Colonel's Scholars-To qualify, graduating high school seniors must: earn a minimum high school GPA of 2.75, plan to pursue a bachelor's degree, demonstrate financial need, enroll in a public college or university within their state of legal residence. Applications will be available online from December 1 through February 8, 2012.

January
Troy State offers a variety of scholarships with varied deadlines. The Leadership/Academic Scholarship deadline is January 15, 2012. For all other Troy State information, visit http://admissions.troy.edu/undergrad 

December
The University of Alabama scholarship deadline for entering Freshmen is December 1.

November
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards-Seniors who have shown excellence in community service activities should apply. Visit www.nassp.org/spirit to apply. Form must be submitted and Mrs. Archer notified that you have applied by November 1, 2011.

Freedom in Academia Student Essay Contest-High school seniors from across the U.S. are invited to write an in-depth essay explaining why free speech and First Amendment rights are crucial to higher education and how abuses of these rights harm the college experience. National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship-The Winston County Chapter of the NWTF will award scholarships to students from Winston Co. Schools. For an application or more info., please see Mrs. Archer or visit www.nwtf.org. Deadline: November 16, 2011 (Turn in to Mrs. Archer)
