As of the 2016-2017 school year, I have been teaching for 26 years and 24 of those have been at Addison. I am in my 5th year as Key Club sponsor. I have been married to my fabulous husband, Chris for almost 23 years. We have one son, Jeremy and a daughter-in-law, Heather. They have blessed us with our grand-daughter, Anna Brooke.
I grew up in Decatur and graduated from Austin High School in 1985. I earned my Bachelor's in Specific Learning Disabilities from Athens State in 1990. I taught for one year in Danville but then proration hit pretty hard so I wasn't able to teach the next year. I began working on my Master's in Mild Learning Handicap and earned that from UNA in 1995. I moved to Winston County in 1992 and have lived in Addison, Haleyville, and now the other side of Double Springs.
I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2011.
