Learning Centers
The After School Childcare Program is just beginning service to parents and children of the Winston County Schools. The program has begun at each Title I school with approximately 15 students at each site. This grant will allow us to begin this program and build relationships with our communities to help sustain it when the grant period is completed.

The program operates every school day and follows the same calendar as the school as the school system. The program is offered as a service to working, public school parents who need care for their children, ages 5 through 12. After School Childcare Programs are a vital part of the many services offered to students and parents by Winston County Schools.
The Learning Tree
Winston County received a new 21st Century
Community Learning Center After School Childcare Program grant for each of
our Elementary and Middle schools. This grant program is called "The
Learning Tree" and began in January 2009.

About Us
21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Programs are offered as a
service to working, public school parents who need care for their children
after regular school hours. Grades served are site specific. Safety and
security are our primary concerns. Grant sites maintain a smaller
teacher/student ratio which is made possible by grant funding. These 21st
CCLC sites also offer additional enrichment opportunities to assist with
academic improvement.
