Congratulations to Robert Bryant from WCHS for advancing to the National FBLA Competition in Anaheim, California this June. Robert is a member of Winston County Technical Center's FBLA. His category for competition is Cyber Security.
March 2009 - Mr. Shandy Porter, Director of the Winston County Technical Center, was chosen for the Alabama FCCLA School Administrator Award by the Alabama Association of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). This is a special award that honors a local administrator who gives outstanding support to FCCLA on the local, state, and national levels.
Bevill State Community College Torch Competitions - Keisha Young from Addison received 2nd place at the Bevill State Summiton in Business Office Management and Technology. Hollie Chambless and Amber Wade received 2nd and 3rd place from Bevill State Hamilton in Business Office Management and Technology.
The 3rd annual Miss Free State of Winston pageant was held on March 7th for the girls of Addison, Lynn, Meek, and WCHS. The winners are: Senior Division- Dakoda Walker (WCHS) winner, Katie Harrison (WCHS) 1st Alternate, Raven Brown (Addison) 2nd Alternate, Lacie Greene (WCHS) 3rd Alternate, Jaimie Smith (Meek) 4th Alternate. The Junior Division winners are: Macie Dodson (WCHS) winner, Carol Cagle (Lynn) 1st Alternate, Amanda Tidwell (WCHS) 2nd Alternate, Destiny Knight (WCHS) 3rd Alternate, Hannah Brewer (WCHS) 4th Alternate.
