2005 Bathroom Renovation Project
Malcolm
Blake Stadium received a much needed renovation late in the football
season. The bathroom plumbing has created serious problems and
embarrassing situations for two decades. In late summer Aubrey and
Sheila Moore (Class of 1984 & 1987) began to put together a
project to build new bathrooms. Aubrey and Sheila provided the
plans, and Southern Energy Homes made donations to get the project
off the ground. There were many other businesses who donated
materials to the project, and all are listed below.
The labor
was volunteer with Aubrey and Sheila working many long hours after
work and on weekends. Tommy Hamby (Class of 1981) provided several
hours toward the “blacking in” portion of the project. Jeff
Franks (Class of 1979) worked many long hours in all phases of the
construction project. Terry Forsyth (Class of 1980) worked with John
Costin Flooring to lay the Ceramic Tile. Greg Farris (Class of 1976)
and Lavar Marks (Class of 1982) worked to finish the inside walls.
Mike Curtis (Class of 1971) worked on painting and some finishing
work on the inside. Jeff Cole (Class of 1980) worked on all phases
of the project. This project was headed by the Winston County High
School Quarterback Club, and all labor and materials were donations.

This
is a great example of what our people and our community can
accomplish when we work together for the good of our school. The end
result can be seen in the photographs below. This project has
provided our stadium with a really nice restroom facility. A special
“Thank You” to all the donors who made this project possible.
