Congratulations to Mrs. Dana
Baker, the February 2008 Alfa Teacher of the Month. The program
honors outstanding K-12 public and private school teachers and
principals with $1,000 cash awards (not grant awards) and $1,000 to

Senator
Bedford
donated funds to WCHS to assist with costs related to security
equipment.
The Winston County High School chapter of The National Beta Club
competed at the National Convention in Nashville, TN, June 20-23, 2007. Sara B. competed in on-site still-life pencil drawing, and the members of the scrapbook team, (composed of Susie B., Tara B., Tiffany C., Holli J., Brook M., and Melanie W.), created a baseball-themed book called "An All-Star Team" which chronicled the life of the club and its members from convention 2006 to convention 2007. The club was elated to find that the scrapbook placed second in the nation! Congratulations to all of these W.C.H.S. students! Dana Baker and Dawn Watkins are the sponsors of this club.
